For
over half a century, Avmor, Ltd., has been a leader in the commercial cleaning
business. They are, in fact, one of the largest public-restroom suppliers
in North America, producing hand dryers, soap dispensers, mopping equipment,
and cleaning chemicals for commercial use. When they came to us in 1998,
Avmor wanted to manufacture a baby-changing station to compete with the
numerous other brands that had flooded the market in the early 1990s. The
new product they wanted to develop needed to be inexpensive, strong, clean,
attractive, and easy to use. It had to appeal to restaurant owners and their
architects, who would make the purchase decision, and, yet, also work efficiently
for the public. The design would be sold worldwide and had to be appropriate
for several international markets and adhere to all related regulatory requirements.
