Computer solid modelling allows the designer to rotate, section, and concurrently study the interdependencies of the design. The requirements of manufacturing tooling, part design, fit, ventilation, safety, and the aesthetics were all subject to change in the working model. Because all CAD work at Henninge is done directly by the designers involved, our projects are continuously refined in real time. We believe that great products can be created only through giving the designer this level of creative control. This particular product had an elaborate matrix of ventilation channels that had to strike a balance between manufacturing, safety, and comfort. These criteria could only be satisfied at this level of involvement with these tools.
