We created a unique look that Hergóm enthusiastically embraced—and we did so with an impressive display of nonverbal salesmanship. In fact, verbal communication was often impossible. Our Spanish was limited, as was their English, and yet the universal language of design and Euclidean geometry cut directly through the often fatty communication between consultants and clients and spoke directly to the important aspects of the project. At one juncture, when the leading Hergóm project engineer conveyed how a particularly important design element was not functionally possible, we were able to quickly dispel his fears with sketches. Through a translator he later commented that he was amazed at the speed and clarity of the communication given the apparent language barriers. Of course, the real beauty of the communication was the digital CAD files. These ensured that the original intentions of our first concept renderings were fully realized in the cast form.
